Description: The Mom's Happy Nappy cover is designed to be used over flats, prefolds and fitteds. It is made of a single layer of PUL with a wipe-able interior. There are two snaps on each wing and two rows of snaps at the waist enabling you to customise the fit at the waist and legs. There is a flap on the inside front which helps to keep an insert or padfolded flat in place. This is a one-size cover featuring three rows of rise snaps on the front to adjust the rise as baby grows.
Ease of use: The stretchy PUL makes this cover easy to get on and off, especially when you have a wriggly toddler. It has a single flap in front which can be used to tuck an insert underneath, similar to an AI2 system. This makes the cover a little bit easier to use for daycare etc. The interior is wipeable and it dries super fast after washing - ideal for handwashing on holiday. [Rating: 4/5]
Fit: We get a really great fit with this cover, both over padfolded flats/prefolds as well as snappi'd flats. It also fits over some fitteds, though you might have some issues with coverage on very bulky fitteds especially if your baby is already on the middle or biggest rise settings. With a padfolded flat inside, J is currently on the smallest rise and with two columns of snaps showing at the waist. Over a snappi'd prefold or flat, we use a bigger rise and waist setting (illustrated in the video above). Either way, he still has a fair amount of room to grow. The cover offers good coverage all round, while still giving a nice trim fit. The leg elastics are quite gentle, which I think will be great especially on chubbier thighs as it is less prone to leaving red marks. [Rating: 4.5/5]
Value for money: Given that this is a WAHM-made item and taking into account the quality of fabrics used and the care taken to make it, I think these covers are very well priced and great value for money. [Rating: 5/5]
Performance: We have had no issues performance-wise. The cover seals well around the legs, so all poop is contained (yes, J has put this to the test as well) and we have had no pee leaking/wicking either. Obviously this assumes enough absorbency underneath, as is the case with all covers. This cover has held up well in the wash, it still looks good as new after two months of use. For toddler use, I would however recommend against the white cover though, or at least to wear pants when playing outside. But nothing that a little bit of sunlight soap/boerseep can't fix. [Rating: 5/5]
Overall impression: Good WAHM-made PUL covers are relatively difficult to find locally, so this offering from Mom's Happy Nappy comes at just the right time. It is well made, excellent quality and very well priced too. As an added bonus, the WAHM behind the product is super friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Being average-sized, it should fit a fairly wide range of babies and toddlers and I would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their cover stash.
